SEO Pyramid Infographic

Here’s a nice checklist of tasks that are important for search engine optimization.  Note that many of these tasks don’t necessarily build backlinks that pass pagerank, but create SEO citations that are critical reference points on the web.  Consider citations as the equivalent of brand advertising, while backlinks are similar to directional marketing.

Also note the importance of social media today, as it is important to create social signals for search rankings.  Looks like a lot of effort, doesn’t it?  As they say, if it is worth doing, it is worth doing well.
